Ravinia Associates in Internal Medicine, Ltd. has been serving the health care needs of residents of Chicago’s North Shore for over 50 years.  The practice was started by Dr. Leonard Stine and Dr. Melvin Goldberg, both internists.  Today, the practice – which focuses on internal medicine and gastroenterology and is located in Highland Park, Illinois – has grown to fourteen physicians and has included three Chiefs of Staff, and seven Chairmen of the Department of Medicine at Highland Park Hospital.  The group is affiliated with Highland Park Hospital and the Evanston Northwestern HealthCare System.

Ravinia Associates physicians are all board certified, further distinguishing the practice and its exemplary medical professionals – which includes two nurse practitioners and a nutritionist.  In addition to providing on-site screening, Ravinia Associates’ gastroenterology specialists encourage patients to have regular screening and to adopt a healthy lifestyle.  For example, colon cancer can be prevented through healthy eating and is very treatable if diagnosed early.  Starting next year, patients will be able to have colonoscopy screening conducted on-site, which permits results to be reviewed with patients the same day the procedure is performed.
