Not-for-Profit Organizations

Shepard Schwartz & Harris appreciates the essential services that not-for-profit organizations provide our communities and understands the needs and issues these organizations deal with on a daily basis.  Our role is to provide advice and solutions for managing federal and state grants, contributions and other revenues; recommend strategies for getting the most out of an organization’s resources; and advise management on operations of the organization, including internal controls, documentation of the flow of funds, and other activities consistent with their financial and tax reporting requirements.

In recent years, significant changes to the not-for-profit reporting requirements have been made.  As a result, we have worked closely with the organizations we represent to address enhanced tax return and unrelated business income reporting, and the requirements for certified audits at both the federal and state level.
